SECTION 5 -SCROLLS
Scrolls are easy to make and add a flourish
to your work in spaces that need "something extra"...
Here are a few to try, follow my directions;
A
Basic Scroll: a tight roll with the end left undone will relax in size
a certain extent and then may be used as a shape in it's own right, when adhered
to your project.
A Scrolled Heart: Fold the strip at the
centre and roll the ends in to meet each other then let relax to size you
desire.
An S Scroll: Roll one end toward the strip's centre and then turn
over, roll up the other end to meet and it will form an S shape.
Scrolls in a row:
Make these by connecting several loose rolls,
curving the loose end of one around the bottom of the body of the next. Waves of
the ocean or a border perhaps?
C Scroll: Roll both ends of the strip toward the middle to form
a C shape.
More advanced scrolls:
Double Scroll: Tear 2 lengths of paper, one shorter than the other and
rest them against each other, with 1 end of the shorter length 3mm from theend
of the longer one. Glue here. Roll the double strip starting at the end which
has the longer length on the outside and then release the tension and pull
slightly at the shorter length to separate the coiled strips. Glue ends
together.
Double Scroll with flag: Fold paper strip
in half. Starting from 2 loose ends, roll the folded strip, the inside will form
a flag shape( loop) near to the fold crease.
Triple Scroll: Fold length of paper strip
in half, roll each end under a few turns. Roll the folded end down to meet the
other 2 coils.
