SECTION 11 - HUSKING

Finally, Husking is the name for the method of creating loops out of paper quilling strips, adhering them to form varying shapes etc. This is always done on a board with graph paper and plastic over that so that you can make sure your loops are pinned EXACTLY to size.

  • It is important that each one of a set of repetitive elements such as flowers and their petals be made to accurate repeat size and shape.
  • Use large glass headed pins to hold the loops (huskings) in place as they are glued together.
  • Tweezers are helpful in holding them in place at times too.
  • Using the picture below for reference, when a loop intersects with another loop (or is to be surrounded by an outer loop as below also) the pins remain in place until the glue dries where the papers meet and need to be held together.

The pattern here requires 3 of these to be made according to the pattern below as shown.

This concludes the learning component of PCA QUILLING WORLD,  if you would like to see some quilled cards that I have recently designed and made then click here- CARD GALLERY.

Thank you very much for following this guide, I wish you every success with Quilling and hope to hear from you if you have any questions:
