NEW Circle and Oval varieties!

(Concentric circles and ovals in Full A4 size Portrait)

Note : The Ovals are set VERTICALLY (portrait) on the Oval FlexiDuo grid... not horizontally.

Available in both Fine and Bold individually or as spccially packaged twinpacks containing a circle and oval grid which then also gives you a free FlexiDuo grid mat, in your choice of fine or bold (one gauge only per pack not combinations).

Introducing the ideal partner products to your Straight and Diagonal FlexiDuo grids,  both grid types are available in both Fine and Bold varieties and in Circles or Ovals.  They contain concentric circles or ovals that start small in the centre (with a handy cross hair for pattern repositioning help in the centre of each) and get larger and larger as they fill out the rest of the entire A4 sized stainless steel grid.

Making microdots using the Circle grid and a Small Ball embosser on Bold Circle grid

You may perforate and/or emboss small dots in the same manner as our original FlexiDuo Grids. Small Ball is used with Bold varieties for this and MicroBall for embossed dots with the Fine grid varieties.

Wide Spaced Twin (WiST) Tools

These 2 tools have been developed especially to fit the spacing of the holes in the new Circle and Oval FlexiDuo grids to speed up perforating.

PCA-F3039   Fine Wide Spaced Twin tool (WiST)   PCA-B3033   Bold Wide Spaced Twin tool (WiST)

Wide spaced Twin (Bold shown here) in use, perfectly spans the holes of either Oval or Circle grid

Creating Card Apertures

Perfect for creating apertures in your cards ( both parchment craft and on cardstock for cards and scrapbook frames) - you simply choose the size circle or oval you wish to use from the multitude available on each grid, from tiny to very big!

3 EASY STEPS

Step 1   Perforating chosen size circle or oval using appropriate WiST ( wide spaced twin in fine or bold) or UniBold/UniFIne single needle tool.

Step 2.  PCA Fine or Bold TRI-ROW tool spans precisely between each perforated hole after removal from Circle or Oval grid, leaving a new hole in between.

Step 3    You can then very easily remove the shape with our MiniStampEdge tool.

  • Use the grids in combination with each other and with our original Diagonal and Straight FlexiDuo grids

  • Don't forget the curving corners available you now with both grids to use in corners of cards.

  • Leave gaps and incorporate our embossing tool perforations such as the Sun Tool inbetween

Mega and Large Suntool groups in between embossed microdots.

Some great creative ideas for inspiration designed/made by Julie Doudle-Hatch using the Circle and Oval FlexiDuo grids!

The small circles are used in juxtaposition in this pretty chain

The Circle grid again with both microdots and perforated round shapes and creative use of the cross hairs supplied in the centre of each grid ( an aid to repositioning paper) as a feature!

Note the Oval grid background swirls perforated in this lovely design by Julie

Another creative use of the Oval grid in this sweet creation

This cute little guy is surrounded by shapes created by a combination of lovely lattice work created on our FIne Straight FlexiDuo grid nestled inside shapes made using the Oval grid.

Our Circle grid used to create this birdhouse beauty! The little perforated circles folded back give an extra dimension as does the ornate use of embossing and the nested SunTool impressions bordering the foldbacks.

All sorts of extra embossing...suntools and thoughtful use of colour and embossed lines make it ornate "oval" creation !

A clever freestyle border idea using small half ovals from the Oval grid,.. notice how you can enhance any simple shapes from the grid by adding in embossed details and perforating cleverly... see how she has cut in between 3 perforations where they intersect between the half oval shapes?  Adds that extra touch!

Be creative and use your other tools to create embossed swirls and small shapes in between perforated holes/or microdots that are created with the new grids and make your own work look as unique as you like!

See how colour has also enhanced Julie's design?

More ideas....these were created by Pauline Loweth.....

Using partial areas of smaller circles provided on the Circle grid for both the perforations and the microdots that complete the design and incorporating embossed lines ....and lots of Suntool Impressions! This and the next one would make fantastic bookmarks.

Here Pauline has used small complete circles, with each opposing hole joined by a line, as if it were a thread sewn between them and joined their bordering microdots with a Scriber etched line, almost gives a stitched look! Then alternate outer perforations have been embossed to highlight them further.

Now we have the Oval grid used to perforate half ovals in a line and fill them with embossed lines ( looks like card embroidery!) and top the areas above with multitudes of alternate microdots(embossed on the grid of course) in even smaller half ovals and then those areas are filled with embossed dots done on a Straight FlexiDuo grid ( every hole) for every second one and the one in between is filled with multiple Suntool impressions.  Can you visualise this as the border along the edge of a card? It would look like battenberg lace.

This new pattern pack is available from us now... it is PCA-P5145 Circles and Ovals and is designed by Pauline to use the new Circle and Oval grids!

Take care of your new Circle / Oval grids in the same way you do with your original PCA Straight or Diagonal FlexiDuo grids and to learn everything about the originals that started the PCA FlexiDuo grid revolution.... read on!

ORIGINAL FINE AND BOLD STRAIGHT AND DIAGONAL FLEXIDUO GRIDS

This is not just a stand alone patterning device, it is the complete and advanced

upgrade and replacement for the old fashioned way of doing TRADITIONAL gridwork.

NOTE: As our FlexiDuo grids are SPECIFICALLY manufactured to fit our Multineedle tools PRECISELY, the

DIAGONAL version is set on the "diagonal" to allow the use of a great deal more of our Multineedle tools that are set in different ways.

As well, they provide a different and pretty configuration of dots (compared to the Straight FlexiDuo Grid versions) when used to make

"microdots" ....They're NOT the same spacing, configuration, sheerness nor are they intended to compare with

or replace any other type or brand of "diagonal grid" on the market.

IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER: They do NOT make the same pattern. Look at the pictures below.

READ ON...

Use these for any existing wire mesh gridwork patterns in existence

AND use PCA®  Multineedle perforators to make your work accurate, neat... PERFECT!

That's right!

Perfect Gridwork AND you can Emboss "MicroDots" too!

OK!

You wanted A4 MicroDot patterning capabilities - Bold Straight FlexiDuo grid is also the answer!

Choose BOLD or FINE Straight (0-90 deg holes) or BOLD or FINE Diagonal (45- 45 deg holes)

in a beautiful Stainless Steel total wire mesh grid replacement template.

NO MORE ROUND "PEG" IN  SQUARE HOLE!

Each of these grids are designed with very specific and exact spacing to fit your needle tools, including PCA Multineedle perforators

( see list further down page of applicable perforators)

PCA FlexiDuo Grid

Full A4 size, easy view of pattern beneath when perforating - sheer flexible nature & ultra lightweight, stainless steel construction.

Clear view of pattern

Now you can see your areas to be perforated clearly which can end "counting" in perforating.

Bold OctTool on Bold variety

Use your PCA multineedle perforators with total precision and speed to neaten and professionalise the look of your work. FlexiDuo mat for perforating only, never use a mat when embossing. Mat fits all 4 grids perfectly!

Embossing dots- "MicroDots"

Use MicroBall for Fine grids and SmallBall for Bold grids - one single movement, no wiggling or rotating tool tip needed.

One single perpendicular downward press of tool tip.

Always emboss with NO mat and upon a hard surface!!

"MicroDots" on Diagonal grid

Use every hole for close dots, make up your own designs or emulate PCA MicroDot system using every 2nd hole of the Bold Straight FlexiDuo grid.

Key Features and Tips:

  •   Replaces wire mesh grids and the ultimate update/replacement for current PCA MicroDot System, the PCA FlexiDuo Grids do it ALL!
  •  Full A4 size - Stainless Steel, ultralight, flexible and easy to clean with common household cleaning solvents.
  •  Use sticky tape to adhere parchment to grid exactly where you need it... any residue will clean right off!
  •  Available singularly as Fine Straight, Fine Diagonal ( for use with PCA Fine Perforators and MicroBall for embossed dots) Bold Straight   and Bold Diagonal (for use with PCA Bold Perforating tools and SmallBall for embossed dots) or as Twin packs prepackaged as Fine or Bold sets.
  •  The holes are ROUND (not square like the gaps between wire mesh) so are the needles of your perforating tool! These grids have been purpose built to exacting standards and the spacing for all 4 varieties have been created to EXACTLY fit your PCA Fine or Bold perforating tools.    NO more putting a round object in a square hole!   We designed them to enable you to take full advantage of the real time saving, yes....but more importantly... neatness of finished work that is a result of using our multineedle perforators.
  •  As you perforate the neat fit of the tool's needles everso slightly push the parchment into the holes, gripping your work securely till you finish.

Bold OctTool perforating on Bold Straight FlexiDuo grid upon FlexiDuo Mat

Replaces MicroDots too with full A4 size and extra versatility(2 in 1)

Embossed dots ( seen on reverse as being created) - NO mat used beneath!

  •  Emboss every 2nd hole of the Bold Straight variety and it emulates the PCA Microdot System spacing (which FlexiDuo will replace) perfectly. You wanted the FULL A4 size to do MicroDots on your cards, now you can!
  •  Emboss on BOLD FlexiDuo Grids with PCA SMALLBALL tool, single press of tooltip (on reverse of work) leaves perfect impression.
  •  Emboss on FINE FlexiDuo Grids with PCA MICROBALL tool, single press of tooltip (on reverse) leaves perfect white dot.
  •  NEVER emboss on FlexiDuo Grid with a mat underneath..... ALWAYS on a hard surface such as a hard cutting mat or tabletop. It won't damage work surface as Ball tool tip doesn't penetrate below surface.

Secure grip of parchment to FlexiDuo Grid - helps accuracy!

  •  Parchment "HUGS" the FlexiDuo grid tight during use so that your project is really securely held and won't move about as you work. This makes a tremendous difference to the accuracy of your perforations, wire mesh grids allow movement beneath the parchment and do not offer this secure hold...you'll be amazed at the precision of your perforating when your work is held firmly in place, NO slipping.
  •  When PERFORATING unlike embossing, always use the special sized FlexiDuo Grid Mat to protect your work surface from needle tool tips. FlexiDuo Grid Mats are available separately ( when purchasing grids singularly)  and one mat fits all 4 varieties of grid, edge to edge.
  •  If you purchase a prepackaged TWIN PACK  ( ie a Fine Straight and Fine Diagonal grid packaged specifically as a set *) you will receive one FREE FlexiDuo Grid mat inside!
  •  Important Note:  PCA FlexiDuo Grid Mat is larger than the existing PCA Grid mat which is cut to shape to fit under the wire mesh frame, we recommend the correct mat for the required edge to edge support.

Sheer, ultra slim nature of Grid allows pattern to be seen underneath- means ACCURACY!

Pattern under Fine Diagonal FlexiDuo Grid

  •  What this means to you is that if you have a pattern that requires perforation ( or embossed dots) within set boundaries, having placed the pattern beneath the grid you can actually see where you need to place your perforations/dots, rather than having to place a pre traced parchment onto a wire mesh grid and TRY to fill in the correct areas!  The parchment usually moves a little and slips around ( the joy of being able to stick your paper down ANYWHERE on top of the grid also...not just to a frame) and the perforations end up slightly uneven at best...not with a PCA FlexiDuo Grid!
  • Please be aware that you do NOT have your pattern with the black perforation placement markings (dots) that show you where to line up a tool UNDER the grid and expect to see them.... no designer can create the pattern markings to exactly line up only under the hole spaces of the grid.  So... you CANNOT perforate regular pattern markings THROUGH the grid. You treat these repetitive markings as you would counted cross stitch.
  • The only time you have the pattern below is as above.... if you want to fill in specific areas WITHIN the tracing lines of a pattern and not worry about going over the traced lines with perforations.  Remember... pattern under grid ONLY for seeing the traced lines for filling in areas in perforating or embossed dots.
  • The other benefit is when you have an irregularly shaped area to fill with perforations, the tendency is to end up ( due partly to the square shape of the gaps between the wires) with a perforation that ends up on your traced line.... not a good look!  The Answer? With the pattern below the FlexiDuo grid, you can SEE the area to be filled and you can do that and THEN trace your line around it afterwards. Thus ending perforations that tend to intersect pre traced pattern lines!!
  • TIP!  Don't go cross-eyed trying to do a whole row in a straight line.....   place a long strip of sticky tape/masking tape along your grid and just follow along the edge...it will peel right off after!
  • You can do your embossed dots ( on hard surface, no mat) and then flip it over (leaving attached)  and pop onto the FlexiDuo Grid mat for your perforations and you see exactly where your embossed dots have been done ..... again...accuracy!

PCA Multineedle tools that can be used with the  STRAIGHT OR DIAGONAL FlexiDuo grids only.  For perforating on the Oval or Circle you need a UniFine or UniBold single needle tool or one of our new Wide spaced Twin tools ( WiST)  that span the distance between the holes of these exactly!

Care of your FlexiDuo Grid System

Although they need no special aftercare, treat them with the respect that they deserve and they will be your faithful servants for many years to come!

The durable, slimline nature of these grids give them extra benefits such as the sheer vision of your pattern below, they are easy to care for  and extra light to ship and port around.  The sheerness enhances your vision as you work also because the mat ( or table ) below is more directly visible through the holes, creating more contrast... less eye strain!

They should always be used as directed in the packaging, supported edge to edge with the PCA FlexiDuo Mat when perforating and NO mat at all when embossing MicroDots ( direct onto a hard surface for rigid support, never on a soft mat).

Don't bend, fold or use them with pressure whilst not supported edge to edge with the correctly prescribed (one fits all) FlexiDuo Mat (unless embossing when NO mat is used)  and of course, store them flat when not in use, as with any previous grid.

STORAGE TIP!

We suggest storing them in one of those A4 Plastic Document file containers... the sort you get at any "$2 Shop" ( made out of "lunchbox" style Polypropylene, a firm yet slightly flexible plastic)   They are designed to store a small quantity of A4 documents, they open up fully in halves, like a book and close together with a slide clip or 2 along one side.  You can get them in various colours and you can store 1 to all 4 of the FlexiDuo Grids and the matching Mat all together safely inside one!

* Note regarding FREE MAT OFFER: PCA FlexiDuo grid mat available on it's own... or FREE when you purchase an especially pre-packaged set of both varieties or either FINE ( combination of  Fine Straight and Diagonal) or BOLD ( combination of Bold Straight and Diagonal)     Mat is not available as a free gift whenpurchasing multiples of grids bought in separate packaging.

Special Note/Disclaimer: It has come to our attention that a person in the UK has been purchasing our PCA(R)  A4 sized FlexiDuo Grids and after sale is cutting them in halves and reselling these altered products to her students.   PCA (R) does not condone this as it is a very unsafe practice that is liable to leave a dangerously sharp, jagged raw metal edge for the user to contend with.

Our FlexiDuo grids are manufactured with in A4 size ONLY with a smooth, full approx 3mm border around all 4 sides.  Any other variation does not meet the manufacturer's (PCA) design specifications.    Be warned.
