SECTION 6 -ECCENTRIC ROLLS

Eccentric rolls are a variation of the pinched shapes made with a basic loose roll, but are more structural in their finish. The loops inside the roll are pushed into one direction and glued in place instead of being allowed to just form naturally.

You will want to have a quiller's design board for ease of making all the shapes equal size and positioning of loops.  The loose roll is placed in the recessed hole of the board and a pin is used to hold the chosen loops to spread to one side until they are glued at their meeting point.  Note PCA does not manufacture nor sell these design boards, for general information only.

Design Board

Here are a few to try, there are more but you can experiment with variations on these basics... they are not hard but do need that board and so maybe considered a little more advanced.

Eccentric Roll ( basic circle) Place a loose roll into the circle of a quiller's board and pin the spread loops ( pushed down to the bottom and spread evenly, use pin to make distance between loops even)

Glue at the meeting point, leaving pin in place till adhered, twist pin if you need to remove when ready to use.

Eccentric Teardrop:  Make eccentric roll as above and after glue dries pinch the opposite end to form the teardrop shape.

Eccentric Marquise:  make 2 points by pinching the opposite sides of an eccentric roll. Make sure the glue is not at the pinched parts.

Eccentric Bunny Ears: Make a round indentation on one side of the eccentric roll, then pinch the 2 points at the side of the dent to form the "ears".

Eccentric Tulip:  Shape an eccentric marquise and then pinch another point into one side. Push the 3 points inward toward each other to make tulip head.

Eccentric Crescent: pinch a loose roll either end ( not quite equal though)  Curl the ends toward each other, apply glue to middle of shape and hold till dry.

I suggest that you now try PROJECT 1 ...which is a basic floral bunch on a greeting card.

Then .. go on to SECTION 7-  LEAVES
